One Good Thing And One Bad Thing About Booster Gold #33

GOOD THING: There's a lot more of that Giffen/DeMatteis magic I love so much, as Booster goes back in time looking for evidence that Maxwell Lord exists... only to be confronted with his less than noble past.

BAD THING: As much as I love this rant and agree with the sentiment behind it, it is a fairly obvious breaking of the fourth wall.

The Final Verdict: This book is everything I wanted Justice League: Generation Lost to be. It's the best book you're (probably) not reading!

  1. I am thrilled with BG #33. I thought #32 was really uneven in terms of story-telling (from wacky to really, horrifically sad out of nowhere), and I was happy to find out that Giffen and Dematteo seem to have already found their footing between goofy and serious.

  2. I loved that rant, but hate that Cyborg had to be the one to get it.

  3. I love this page so much. You tell 'em, Keith & Marc.
I was a fan of each of them before they got together, they really are two of the best writers DC has ever had, & their JLI gets a lot of smack said about it by people who never read it.

  4. Yeah. They seem to have found a balance with Booster in this issue.

  5. Yeah. This issue hit all the right notes. Honestly, I couldn't really think of a thing wrong without apart from the author rant not being subtle.
Then again, since when have Giffen and DeMatties ever been accused of being subtle? :)

  6. Yeah. Donna or Dick would have been better.

  7. It's one of the reasons we like them so much.

  9. Donna's to nice, and Dick has taken Bruce's place as Booster's secret keeper.

  10. Stephen DeStefano confessed to designing the costume.

    Feel free to blame him.

  12. See, that's why I want him to wail on them.
Dick, because he'll actually admit that Booster has a point.
Donna, because I want to see Booster make her feel bad, cry and then die from shame and have it STICK this time.
