Batgirl #12 - A Review

The centerpiece of Batgirl #12 is an event that was highly anticipated and highly demanded by several readers - a confrontation between Batgirl and Batwoman. This could have been a terribly cliched moment. If two heroes fighting each over over a misunderstanding before teaming up to face the real enemy isn't the Number One trope on the list of Superhero Storylines, it's got to be in the top three. Thankfully, Gail Simone tackles this scene with her trademark humor and turns it into the event it should be.

As much as I may look forward to Ed Benes taking over the art duties on this book next month, I will miss Adrian Syaf's work as well. Over the past few issues, Syaf has proven more than capable of depicting a variety of scenes. From high action to slapstick comedy, Syaf brought Simone's scripts to life perfectly. Still, all good things must come to an end. Hopefully Syaf will have a new gig shortly.
